1. Adam Bender, <1595-->1638, born most likely in Rettigheim, Baden. Adam was married in Rettigheim in 1615 but the name of Adam's wife is unknown. They had at least five children.

Adam's first child was a son by the name of Sebastian Bender, 1615--1688, who was born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. 1.1.1. Andreas Bender, c. 1642--1688, the first of four of Sabastian Bender and Maria Eva Jakob's children born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. Andreas was a farmer and a village mayor (Schultheiß).  About 1665, Andreas Bender married Anna Maria, c. 1645--, maiden name unknown who was born in Rotenberg. He and his wife were living at Rotenberger Str. 29/31. Andreas Bender and his wife, Anna Maria had the following five children.

1.1.1.1. Andreas Bender, 1668--9-21-1739, the first of five children of Andreas Bender and Anna Maria born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. In 1692 in Malsch, Andreas Bender married Anna Eva Maria Elisabetha Bösheinz [Böes], 1672-->1716, who was born in Malsch. Andreas was a farmer and a village mayor. In the statistics of 1726 he was mentioned with one son and two daughters. Andreas was called "junior", in order to differentiate him from the other Andreas' "senior". Anna Eva Maria Elisabetha was her name given by someone else. Andreas Bender and Anna Eva Maria Elisabetha Bösheinz had the following nine children.

1.1.1.1.1. Anna Rosina Hermann, nee Bender, 9-30-1692-->1712, the first of nine of Andreas Bender and Anna Eva Maria Elisabetha Bösheinz's children born in Rettigheim and died in Malsch. Anna Rosina Bender married Johann Michael Herrmann, c 1685--, of Malsch in 1712 in Rettigheim. This could be the same Hermann family of Maria Elizabeth Bender, nee Herrmann who left Germany for America late in 1854. Maria Elizabeth's daughter was my great grandmother, 1.1.2.2.5.3.2.3.5. Theresia Blaies, nee Bender, 1833--1898.

1.1.1.1.2. Johann Matthäus Bender, 6-24-1696--5-19-1764, the second of nine of Andreas Bender and Anna Elisabetha Maria Bösheinz's children born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. In 1720 in Rettigheim, Johann Matthäus Bender married Anna Barbara Maria, 1688--9-10-1767, who died in Rettigheim and whose maiden name was unknown. The family lived mostly in Malsch, however again in Rettigheim."(???) they lived on Rotenberger Str. 7/9. He was a farmer. Johann Matthäus Bender and Anna Barbara had the following four children.

Maria Katharina Bender married 1.2.3.4.2. Johann Georg Metzger, 3-21-1723--8-28-1784, on 2-9-1745 in Rettigheim. He was a farmer and lived at Rotenberger Str. 10. George Metzger and Katharina, his conjugal housewife, sell in 1778 to Franz Werstern and Maria Eva Metzger, his wife, their house, in since Johann Hock's Witib and Franz Werstein, other since one Michel Kling's Witib and Eschbaumers inheriting, hinden? the ditch. Maria Katharina Bender and Johann Georg Metzger had no issue.

1.1.1.1.2.3. Franz Nikolaus Bender, 1-25-1727--6-14-1772, the third of four children of Johann Matthäus Bender and Anna Barbara born in Malsch and died in Rettigheim. He was a farmer. On 10-6-1750 in Rettigheim, Franz Nikolaus Bender married Maria Eva Gross, 7-23-1726--5-6-1772, who was born in Malsch, died in Rettigheim and the daughter of Konrad Gross and Anna Margaretha Spieler of Odenheim. Maria Eva Gross. one of ten siblings was also the sister-in-law of 1.2.3.7.1. Johann Georg Bender. Franz Nikolaus Bender and Maria Eva Gross had the following eight children.

Anna Maria Katharina Bender, 7-30-1757--9-17-1801, who was born and died in Rettigheim. After Anna Maria Katharina Bender died on 3-2-1802 in Rettigheim, Johann Matthäus Bender married 1.1.1.3.2.7.6. Maria Katharina Ringer, 9-21-1766--11-21-1821, who was born and died in Rettigheim. Johann Matthäus Bender had a total of 12 children, nine children by Anna Maria Katharina Bender and three children by Maria Katharina Ringer. On 1-10-1815 in Rettigheim, Katharina Barbara Bender married Georg Michael Ringer, 3-10-1787--, who was born in Rettigheim and died in Poland. He was a farmer and had lived at Malschen Str. 17.

On 10-8-1817, Michael Ringer buys the house of Johann Katzenberger Malscher St. for 572 guilders, therefore his/its future residence, in 17 and in 1818, he buys the house of the Michael Weigenannt in the bog field quarter, 7 3/4 rods for 420 guilders, as well. Karl was a butcher and was married in 1936 in Gütersloh, Germany but the name of his wife is unknown. Karl Reiss is my generation's 7th cousin 1 generation removed.
