This begins the Bender line of Adam Bender who is our earliest known Bender ancestor as of today.

1. Adam Bender, <1595-->1638, born most likely in Rettigheim, Baden. Adam was married in Rettigheim in 1615 but the name of Adam's wife is unknown. They had at least five children.

Adam's first child was a son by the name of Sebastian Bender, 1615--1688, who was born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. 1.2. Johann Jakob Bender, 1620--1688, the second of five children of Adam Bender and his unknown wife born in Rettigheim and died in Rotenberg, Baden. Johann Jakob Bender was born one year before the Pilgrims had the first Thanksgiving in Massachusetts.

Johann Jakob Bender wife's name is unknown. He was a farmer and a RAT and lived at Malscher Str.11/13 and Rotenberg Str. 28/30. He was a tailor in Rotenberg from 1667 to 1691. Married in 1642 in Rettigheim, Johann Jakob Bender had a total of three children by his unknown wife.

1.2.1. Heinrich Bender, 1646--, the first of three children of Johann Jakob Bender and unknown wife born in Rettigheim, Baden. About 1675, Heinrich Bender married the daughter of Michel Rudolf The given name of Heinrich Bender's wife is unknown. Heinrich Bender and the Unknown Rudolf were married c. 1675 in Rettigheim. He was a farmer and lived at Malscher Str. 6 in Rettigheim.

1.2.2. Elizabeth Rudolf, nee Bender, 1653--2-4-1690, the second of three children of Johann Jakob Bender and his unknown wife born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. About 1675 in Rettigheim, Elizabeth Bender married Hans Heinrich Rudolf, 1652--11-21-1702, who died in Rettigheim, Baden. Hans Rudolf was a farmer and an Anwalt [lawyer]. Elizabeth Bender and Hans Heinrich Rudolf had at least one child.

1.2.2.1. Maria Anna Eva Neff, nee Rudolph, 1678--1-20-1735, the only child of Elizabeth Bender and Hans Heinrich Rudolf born and died in Rettigheim. On 1-18-1701 in Rettigheim, Maria Anna Eva Rudolf married Johann Neff, <1677--10-6-1743, who was born in Hergiswil, Switzerland and died in Rettigheim. He was a farmer living at Malscher Str. 10. Maria Anna Eva Rudolf and Johann Neff had the following eight children.

Maria Katharina emigrates with her husband, the shoemaker Joh. Adam Bender to Serbia, probably in the Banat, at that time Serbian, today Hungary. Why both went to Hungary with a family of 12 to feed needs to be understood as it seems like it is way out of the norm.

Johann Adam Bender was a shoemaker and had lived at Rotenberger Str. 24/26. The remaining family emigrates 1790 to Serbia, together with his brother Franz and its family. The house "auctioneered of the Ausfautei" publicly at the meisstbietenden; George Werstein bought at an auction half at 24 3/8 rods with half house before and around 201 guldens and 30 Kreutzer. 3 weeks later it sells it again at Anton Bender. 1.2.2.1.4.9.10.9. Josef Förderer, 11-27-1840--3-20-1867, the ninth of ten children of Maria Anna Müller and Johann Martin Förderer born and died in Rettigheim. He was a farmer and lived at Östringer Str. 2/4. On 1-4-1866 in Rettigheim, Josef Förderer married 1.1.2.1.6.1.3.8.6. Juliana Kamuf, 4-26-1844--4-3-1912, who was born and died in Rettigheim and the daughter of Matthaus Kamuf and Theresia Schmitt. After Josef died on 1-26-1868 in Rettigheim, Juliana Kamuf married 1.2.3.4.8.6.8.3. Stefan Östringer and had ten children by him. Stefan was born and died in Rettigheim. Josef Förderer and Juliana Kamuf had one child.

1.2.2.1.4.9.10.9.1. Josefine Förderer, 3-25-1867--6-21-1891, the only child of Josef Förderer and Juliana Kamuf born and died in Rettigheim. Josefine never married and was a sewer (Näherin).

1.2.2.1.4.9.10.10. Augustin Förderer, 3-15-1845--4-3-1865, the tenth of ten children of Maria Anna Müller and Johann Martin Förderer born and died in Rettigheim. Augustin never married.

1.2.2.1.4.9.11. Nikolaus Müller, 7-5-1802--, the eleventh of eleven children of Maria Margarete Neff and Johann Christoph Müller born in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5. Anna Maria Hertzel, nee Neff, 10-24-1711--2-29-1772, the fifth of eight children of Maria Anna Eva Rudolf and Johann Neff born and died in Rettigheim. On 11-21-1740 in Rettigheim, Anna Maria Neff married Johann Nikolaus Hertzel, 1-28-1714--4-3-1772, who was born in Malschenberg and died in Rettigheim. The surname can also be spelled Hertz. Johann was a Küfer (barrel maker). Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel had the following seven children.

1.2.2.1.5.1. Franz Hertzel, 10-4-1741--10-5-1741, the first of seven children of Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel born and died in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5.2. Franz Hertzel, 10-1-1742--1743, the second of seven children of Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel born and died in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5.3. Franz Hertzel, 9-15-1743--, the third of seven children of Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel born in Rettigheim and died in Philippsburg. Franz married a woman from Philippsburg, Baden and was married in Philippsburg, Baden.

1.2.2.1.5.4. Maria Eva Hertzel, 1745--7-25-1789, the fourth of seven children of Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel born and died unmarried in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5.5. Johann Leonhard Hertzel, 5-9-1747--, the fifth of seven children of Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel born in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5.6. Maria Eva Kleinlagel, nee Hertzel, 11-5-1748--1-29-1815, the sixth of seven children of Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel born and died in Rettigheim. On 1-7-1777 in Rettigheim, Maria Eva Hertzel married Johann Kleinlagel, 10-10-1752--1-23-1815, who was born and died in Rettigheim. Johann Kleinlagel was a master carpenter and lived at Östringer Str. 1/3 (Half house). Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel died about a week apart. The year 1815 is right after Napoleon's wars and food might have been scarce. Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel had the following six children.

1.2.2.1.5.6.1. Katharina Barbara Kleinlagel, 12-20-1778--<1782, the first of six children of Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel born in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5.6.2. Katharina Barbara Ringer, nee Kleinlagel, 1-7-1782--7-31-1844, the second of six children of Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel born and died in Rettigheim. On 11-17-1800 in Rettigheim, Katharina Barbara Kleinlagel married 1.1.1.3.2.7.10. Johann Jakob Ringer, 8-8-1775--5-7-1817, who was born and died in Rettigheim. See 1.1.1.3.2.7.10. for the line of descent for their six children.

1.2.2.1.5.6.3. Maria Eva Kleinlagel, 9-18-1784--2-15-1785, the third of six children of Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel born and died in Rettigheim.

1.2.2.1.5.6.4. Maria Juliana Bender, nee Kleinlagel, 4-22-1786--12-19-1850, the fourth of six children of Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel born and died in Rettigheim. On 4-21-1807 in Rettigheim, Maria Juliana Kleinlagel married 1.2.3.7.1.14. Johann Michael Bender, 11-24-1783--4-21-1807, who was born and died in Rettigheim and was a day laborer and lived at probably Rotenberger Str. 10. On 15 March 1808 Michael Bender buys from George Werstein, Sr., his half house, two storied, in Reitviertel being appropriate; in since George Katzenberg's widow and Andreas Kenz, other since one Kaspar Werstein's widow and George Bender d.J; front end the Almendgaessel and Adam Eschbaumer's widow, hinden the one brook ditch. 1.2.2.1.5.6.5. Maria Theresia Förderer, nee Bender, nee Kleinlagel, 5-15-1789--11-3-1841, the fifth of six children of Maria Eva Hertzel and Johann Kleinlagel born and died in Rettigheim. On 1-15-1815 in Rettigheim, Maria Theresia Kleinlagel married 1.2.3.7.5.8. Anton Bender, 5-13-1787--5-10-1816, who was born and died in Rettigheim. He was a farmer and lived probably at Östringer Str. 1/3. After Anton Bender died Maria Theresia Kleinlagel married 1.1.1.3.2.11.8. Thaddäus Förderer, 3-30-1790--12-14-1854, who was born and died in Rettigheim. He was a shoemaker and lived probably at Östringer Str. 1/3. Maria Theresia Kleinlagel and Thaddäus Förderer had the following six children.
