1. Adam Bender, <1595-->1638, born most likely in Rettigheim, Baden. Adam was married in Rettigheim in 1615 but the name of Adam's wife is unknown. They had at least five children.

Adam's first child was a son by the name of Sebastian Bender, 1615--1688, who was born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. 1.2. Johann Jakob Bender, 1620--1688, the second of five children of Adam Bender and his unknown wife born in Rettigheim and died in Rotenberg, Baden. Johann Jakob Bender was born one year before the Pilgrims had the first Thanksgiving in Massachusetts.

Johann Jakob Bender wife's name is unknown. He was a farmer and a RAT and lived at Malscher Str.11/13 and Rotenberg Str. 28/30. He was a tailor in Rotenberg from 1667 to 1691. Married in 1642 in Rettigheim, Johann Jakob Bender had a total of three children by his unknown wife.

1.2.1. Heinrich Bender, 1646--, the first of three children of Johann Jakob Bender and unknown wife born in Rettigheim, Baden. About 1675, Heinrich Bender married the daughter of Michel Rudolf The given name of Heinrich Bender's wife is unknown. Heinrich Bender and the Unknown Rudolf were married c. 1675 in Rettigheim. He was a farmer and lived at Malscher Str. 6 in Rettigheim.

1.2.2. Elizabeth Rudolf, nee Bender, 1653--2-4-1690, the second of three children of Johann Jakob Bender and his unknown wife born and died in Rettigheim, Baden. About 1675 in Rettigheim, Elizabeth Bender married Hans Heinrich Rudolf, 1652--11-21-1702, who died in Rettigheim, Baden. Hans Rudolf was a farmer and an Anwalt [lawyer]. Elizabeth Bender and Hans Heinrich Rudolf had at least one child.

1.2.2.1. Maria Anna Eva Neff, nee Rudolph, 1678--1-20-1735, the only child of Elizabeth Bender and Hans Heinrich Rudolf born and died in Rettigheim. On 1-18-1701 in Rettigheim, Maria Anna Eva Rudolf married Johann Neff, <1677--10-6-1743, who was born in Hergiswil, Switzerland and died in Rettigheim. He was a farmer living at Malscher Str. 10. Maria Anna Eva Rudolf and Johann Neff had the following eight children.

The former Duchy of Lothringen (Lorraine) became a French province in 1766. Later the German-speaking area of Lorraine became part of Elsass-Lothringen. Maria Katharina emigrates with her husband, the shoemaker Joh. Adam Bender to Serbia, probably in the Banat, at that time Serbian, today Hungary. Why both went to Hungary with a family of 12 to feed needs to be understood as it seems like it is way out of the norm.

Johann Adam Bender was a shoemaker and had lived at Rotenberger Str. 24/26. The remaining family emigrates 1790 to Serbia, together with his brother Franz and its family. The house "auctioneered of the Ausfautei" publicly at the meisstbietenden; George Werstein bought at an auction half at 24 3/8 rods with half house before and around 201 guldens and 30 Kreutzer. 3 weeks later it sells it again at Anton Bender. Albert used to write his family every second day and was killed or taken prisoner between March 9 and 16th in 1945. He lived in Bretten which is about 15 miles south of Östringen and Rettigheim. Julius Kamuf, 5-3-1834--1-25-1878, the second of nine children of Matthaus Kamuf and Maria Theresia Schmitt born and died in Rettigheim. He was a butcher and lived at Östringer Str. 6. He was a farmer and lived at Östringer Str. 2/4. On 1-4-1866 in Rettigheim, Josef Förderer married 1.1.2.1.6.1.3.8.6. Juliana Kamuf, 4-26-1844--4-3-1912, who was born and died in Rettigheim and the daughter of Matthaus Kamuf and Theresia Schmitt. After Josef died on 1-26-1868 in Rettigheim, Juliana Kamuf married 1.2.3.4.8.6.8.3. Stefan Östringer and had ten children by him. Stefan was born and died in Rettigheim. Josef Förderer and Juliana Kamuf had one child.

On 11-21-1740 in Rettigheim, Anna Maria Neff married Johann Nikolaus Hertzel, 1-28-1714--4-3-1772, who was born in Malschenberg and died in Rettigheim. The surname can also be spelled Hertz. Johann was a Küfer (barrel maker). Anna Maria Neff and Johann Nikolaus Hertzel had the following seven children.
