Have you run into a (John) Martin BENDER born about 1700 who must have come very young. He was in Craven County N.C. by 1740, buying land from John Simons. But Martin already had land there. Martin's will in 1750, Craven Co. N.C., exec was John Simons. I do not have a name for his wife. Children. John BENDER born ca 1735 (N.C.?), Captain Daniel BENDER born Dec. 1748, Mary and Salome (both born before 1750). Bothe sons fought in the Rev. War for N.C. Can't find any siblings. Researchers in N. C. say they can not find any BENDER listed among the Swiss and Germans who came with Baron Christopher de Graffenried in 1710. Many of the 1710 people were massacred. I did not find information on your Matthais BENDER c. 1675-1711 in your material. Any suggestions on my ancestor (John ) Martin BENDER Thank you. Verena BENDER HEKMAN (e mail: Omahekman@aol.com)
