I hope to make this a very easy way to find links to others looking for the same family. It needs to answer two questions in order to do that smartly. The first is the name, YOB and POB of the earliest Beirne / Bryne / Byrne ancestor known in Ireland. The second is the name of your immigrant ancestor, the location they settled in and the year of arrival. The townland is the key to links. My Beirne family never emigrated so I am not sure of the exact spelling of the name, hence I have listed all three versions of the spelling in the first entry below.

The contact's web page if known is on the name of the earliest ancestor. The contact's e mail address is on the contact's name. Some of the contacts listed do not have e mail so I will relay your questions to them. To make the link to others easier to find entries are grouped by County, Barony down to Townland. A great book, "The Family O'Beirne", written by Bryan Patrick Beirne and availible from Bryan Thomas MVMAG@AOL.COM . It is primarily on O'Beirne's but has many other lines of Byrne / Bryne / Burns. The O'Byrne Family Web Site is also very well done.

There are 60,642 Townlands in Ireland, 2,508 Civil Parishes, 331 Baronies, 163 Poor Law Unions, 163 Superintendent Registrar's Districts (same as PLUs), 22 Dioceses and 4 Arch Dioceses.
