My cousin and I are quite involved in tracing our family. Here's what we have now that's certain: Ralphael (Raphael) Byrne b. abt 1807 County Wicklow, Ireland m. Catherine Cassidy abt 1821 son Martin b. May 28, 1848 Ireland son Michael b. Aug 12, 1850 Ireland enlisted 69th Foot Regiment at Isle of Wight Mar 9, 1826 on detachment in Granada Mar 1833 Sargeant, briefly in hospital British Guyana Mar 1837 Sargeant in Fermoy and Dublin 1842-43 pension taken 31 July 1847 family moved to Ontario Canada abt 1851-52 some of later families moved on to Minnesota & North Dakota U.S.A. and Alberta Canada I realize this is always a long shot but hopefully someone out on the web might help.
