1. Patrick McTernan,  c1832--c1915, born in Greaghnafarna, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.  Sometime before 1869, Patrick McTernan married  Ann Gallagher, <1850--, who was born in Co Leitrim.   They had the following 6 children:

1.1.   Patrick McTernan, c1870--6-1961, the first of six childern of Patrick McTernan and Ann Gallagher born in Greaghnafarna, Co. Leitrim, died in Mohill, Co. Leitrim, Ireland. On  5-19-1899 in St. Patricks Catholic Church Drumahaire, Patrick McTernan married Maria Clarke, 1872--1942, who was born and died in Mullagh.  Maria was the daughter of Patrick Clarke and Bridget McGoldrick.  Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke are buried at Crevaleagh Abby in Drumahaire, Co. Leitrim Ireland. Patrick McTernan was a farmer with about 40 acres that was owned by his father in law Patrick Clarke. They had 9 children.

1.1.1.  Patrick McTernan, 1900--1901, the first of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born and died in Mullagh, Drumahaire, Co. Leitrim, Ireland 

1.1.2. Mary Ann Cunningham, nee McTernan, 7-21-1901-1988, the second of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born in Mullagh and died in White Plains, New York.  In 1924, Mary Ann McTernan married James Cunningham 1924 in Mullagh, who died in Camerville, NY.  They came to the United States in 1928 on board the USS Constitution. They landed in New York. They had 4 children. 

1.1.2.1.  James Cunningham, 1927--9-15-1996, died in Camerville, NY and married a woman by the name of Elizabeth, surname unknown.

1.1.2.2. Francis Cunningham, 1927--11-11-1972, born in Mullagh, died in New York and married a woman by the name of Lillian, surname unknown.

1.1.2.3.  Kathleen Cunningham, 1930--, born in New York.

1.1.2.4.  Rosemary Manzie, nee Cunningham, 1933--,  born in New York and married a man by the name of Manzie, given name unknown.

1.1.3.  Patrick McTernan, 1-1904--1953, the third of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born and died in Mullagh, Drumahaire, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.

1.1.4.  Hugh Francis McTernan, 10-27-1906--8-4-1996, the fourth of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born in Mullagh and died in Cowley, Oxfordshire, England. in 1933, Hugh Francis McTernan married Mabel Edith Carter and had two children.

1.1.5.  Bridget Mary Fowley, nee McTernan, 5-6-1909--1986, the fifth of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born and died in Mullagh, Drumahaire, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.  In 1930, Bridget Mary McTernan married Owen Fowley who was a tailor.  They had eight children. 

1.1.5.1.  Patricia Appleford, nee Fowley, the first of eight children of Bridget Mary McTernan and Owen Fowley. Patricia Fowley married Gordon Appleford.

1.1.5.2. Margaret Bussey, nee Fowley, the second of eight children of Bridget Mary McTernan and Owen Fowley. Margaret Fowley married a man by the name of Bussey and had a daughter.

1.1.5.3. Veronica Furness, nee Fowley, the third of eight children of Bridget Mary McTernan and Owen Fowley. Veronica Fowley married a man by the name of Furness, given name unknown.

1.1.7.  Hugh McTernan, c1910--, the seventh of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born in Mullagh, Drumahaire, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.

1.1.8. Catherine Staley, nee McTernan, 8-27-1912--, the eighth of nine children of Patrick McTernan and Maria Clarke born in Mullagh, Drumahaire, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.  Catherine went to England in 1935.  On 8-1-1944 in Oxford, England,  Catherine McTernan married Gerald Jean Staley, 5-10-1912--6-8-1978, who was born in Miles City, Custer Co, Montana and died in Medical Lake, Spokane Co, WA.  Catherine McTernan and Gerald Jean Staley had 5 children.

1.1.8.1.  Kathleen Mary Staley, 10-6-01939--, the first of five children of Catherine McTernan and Gerald Jean Staley born in London, England.

1.1.8.2. Patricia Ann Krisko, nee Staley, 3-12-1945--, the second of five children of Catherine McTernan and Gerald Jean Staley born in Oxford, England. On 8-22-1964, Patricia Ann Staley married Michael Joseph Krisko Jr., 6-7-1943--, who was born Cleveland, OH.  Patricia then married a man by the name of Patterson. Patricia Ann Staley and Michael Joseph Krisko Jr had one child.

1.1.8.3. Geraldine Margaret Barthelmas, nee Staley, 7-21-1947--, the thrid of five children of Catherine McTernan and Gerald Jean Staley born in Tacoma, WA.  On 9-21-1974, Geraldine Margaret Staley married a Paul Michael Barthelmas.

1.1.8.4. Jean Marie Morton, nee Staley, 5-17-1951--, the fourth of five children of Catherine McTernan and Gerald Jean Staley born in Moses Lake, WA.  On 1-19-1971, Jean Marie Staley married Jerry Allen Morton.

1.1.8.5. Pamela Maureen Burnett , nee Staley, 6-8-1953--6-4-2007, the fifth of five children of Catherine McTernan and Gerald Jean Staley born in england and died in Seattle, WA  oN 12-15-1973, Pamela Maureen Staley married Harold Franklin Burnett and had 2 children.

John was known as Jack and in 1934 married a woman by the name of Daisy.  John was in the Irish Free State Army about 1923 from 1925-1926 was stationed at Lockderg Island.  The middle name might have been  Joseph and if true then he died in Redding England
