Hello,
Mary Beirne of Mohill was mother of James (my great grandfather) who was born in 2.21.1839. She and husband John had 3 others whose baptisms are recorded in the church record.
The other children are:John 7.24.1840 Anne 4.23.1854 Ellen 7.14.1855
I read in the book, Leitrim and the Great Hunger by Gerard Macatasney, that on April 19, 1848, Mary Beirne of Mohill was given a petticoat and shift by the Relief Workers of the Quakers, whose records are very precise.
The land my cousins ore on is called Bunny Beg. I have also heard Drumlara. Is that the townland.
I hope to hear more from the person who is doing some searching in census records. Any help would be appreciated.
