The
corner of Natural Bridge Ave. and North Market St in St. Louis. Natural
Bridge Ave. at this point is now called North Florsant Ave. Since
the age of 7 by myself I would take the bus from Hebert St. to this
corner and get off walking up hill to St. Liborius school. After school
I would take the bus to down town St. Louis going to my dad's or mum's
office.
Going up the street on the left at the end of the buildings was a
barber shop where the barber used to burn hair on Fridays in his ashpit
and stink up the neighborhood. The smell was bad enough that it
made the school kids sick. The Catholic Woman's Day School is also
right up the block on the right. I attended there from the age of
three. I remember getting cod liver oil on a wooden spoon every
day.
