The link between the Mount Allen / Heapstown McTernans, the Rockfield McTernans and the Sligo O'Connors

The O'Conor Sligo are of the line of Brian Luigneach who was a son of Turlough Mór O'Conor High King of Ireland and claimed the Tuath of Cairbre
North Sligo, lands and titles they held until the 17th century.

Much of this information here-in comes from an obituary published in the Sligo Champion Newspaper in February 1880
which was part of a package that the former Chief Libraian of Co. Sligo, John C. McTernan mailed to me. 
The previous owners of the Mount Allen Estate in Co Roscommon before the McTernans were the O'Connors
I think this O'Connor family from Sligo descends from the O'Connor family that were the past kings of Ireland
The Rockfield McTernans family seat was the townland of Gortgarrigan, Co Leitrim
A pamphlet written in 1845 by James MacTernan, 1805--1855, of the Mount Allen MacTernans who settled at Heapstown,
Catholic parish of Tawnagh, Kilmacallan civil parish, Barony of Tirerrill, PLU of Boyle, Co. Sligo entitled
  "An Address to my Fellow Countrymen", in which he claimed descent from Tiernan O'Rourke,
Prince of Breffni. [Found by John C. McTernan]
